| A Brief Biography OK, so you decided you wanted to learn more about me. I'm a native of Lancaster, Pennsylvania. I was born and raised in the land of the Pennsylvania Dutch. Except for four years in the Air Force (I went to school for 26 weeks in Rantoul, IL then spent the remainder of my duty at Kinchelo AFB in the Michigan Upper Penninsula), I've lived in or near to Lancaster city all my life. I
graduated from McCaskey High
School in Lancaster in 1964. Every five years I
get involved in the reunion planning effort. Our 40th class reunion was
held in the summer of 2004. Around my Air Force stint, I
attended Millersville University (it was then known
as Millersville State College) and graduated with a B.A.
in Mathematics in December of 1972. I worked for four
years as a computer operator then as a systems programmer
at York Borg-Warner, now York International. In 1976 I
took a programming position at R.R. Donnelley
& Sons in Lancaster. I remained at Donnelley for
26 years -- all 26 years in various computer systems
development positions, ending as the Manager for IT
Architecture. I retired in May of 2002 and have consulted
for Donnelley off and on since retirement. |

| In 1969 I married my high school sweetheart,
Nancy. Actually Nancy was still in "junior"
high school when we started dating so we were soul mates
for 41 years when Nancy died in September, 2003 following
a 27 month battle with ovarian cancer. Photos of Nancy
and a memorial page are included in this web site. Nancy
will be forever loved and missed by all those who knew
her. I find inspiration in this philosophy of life. Nancy and I had two great kids -- Nikole (born in 1972) and Noel (born in 1975). Nikki is now married, lives in Columbia, PA and has produced two beautiful grandchildren -- Elisabeth and Zachary. Noel lived in Denver, Colorado since 1998 where he became addicted to skiing, the beauty of the Rocky Mountains and the cosmopolitan life of Denver. He relocated to Portland, Oregon in the fall of 2006. |
